Users can take advantage of their hundreds of pre-made templates and a drag-and-drop interface, making the whole process easy, even for those with no technical background.
Passion.io offers unique interactive elements like goal tracking, Calendly embeds, and YouTube Live integration directly within courses. It also allows creators to build small, intimate groups or large, lively communities within their custom apps.

Kajabi offers a more comprehensive suite of tools, including advanced marketing features, email automation, and affiliate management, all in one place. While Passion.io focuses on apps, Kajabi provides robust website-building tools, allowing creators to establish a strong web presence.
Kajabi’s marketing capabilities are also much more sophisticated, with powerful automation and funnel-building tools, and they offer more diverse product types. While Passion.io excels in creating user-friendly, mobile-centric experiences with its app-building focus, Kajabi stands out with its comprehensive marketing and business management tools. Course creation tools
Passion.io course creation tools
Now, Passion.io doesn’t offer a free trial or a free plan for their product, so we were not able to test this on our own. However, according to their documentation, the course creation process is pretty straightforward.
Users have the option to update and upload content from the web app or the mobile app by clicking on the + icon on mobile or + Add product on the web. From the three dots on each course, users can edit, delete, or clone existing courses.
Then, they have to configure some important settings such as:
- Giving a name to their course
- Writing a short description
- Choosing a cover photo if needed
- Selecting a pricing plan (more on those a bit later)
- Toggling the Progress Tracking depending on your requirements
- Choosing a course template

Once you’re done, you just need to click on Add Product, and the course will be automatically shared with the audience. If you want just to save it as a draft, you need to leave the pricing plan for last.
When you want to add new lessons or modify existing ones, you need to click Edit on the specific course and then, similarly to the previous steps, add the necessary information step by step.

To make the courses more interactive, Passion.io lets creators choose from a variety of widgets that let you add text, images, videos, file upload sections, audio files, buttons, and more.

Another great feature that is invaluable in retaining people for a longer period is the drip lessons function. This can be easily modified through the specific lesson settings and when it’s done, this is how it looks to subscribers.

Highly recommend as a starting platform.
Really great site as a test pilot to run your course from. Looks professional, easy to navigate, fair price.

Kajabi course creation tools
Kajabi offers online course creation as a separate product, and its interface is very similar to that of the majority of course builders. You have a dashboard with all of the available products, and you can create a new course by adding modules and lessons.
One unique feature of Kajabi here is its AI course creator, which can help you craft an outline in seconds.

For each lesson, you can add different elements like PDFs, quizzes, videos, text, and more. Kajabi also gives you the option to choose a different release time for each lesson, including core features like drip lessons, pre-sells for future courses, upsells after the student is done, and even waitlists.

One of the best platforms for creating course content.
I like the functionalities Kajabi offers for end-to-end course content creation. I have used Kajabi to develop my course pack, and the result has been exceptional and professional. The feedback I received from the users has been excellent.
Adnan A. – Kajabi review
Verdict: Kajabi wins 🏆
Both Kajabi and Passion.io offer easy setup, interactive features, various pricing plans, and drip lesson features in their course creation tools.
However, Kajabi does take the win here because of its comprehensive yet easy setup, numerous useful features for interactive courses, and effective landing pages to help people sign up easily.
It also doesn’t restrict users to only use the mobile version and offers a web course, which is sometimes a better experience than the small phone screen.
Community features
Passion.io community features
Passion.io includes community-building tools in all of its plans that allow creators to foster engagement and connection among their users. With that, you can create multiple community channels within a custom mobile app, giving creators flexibility in organizing discussions and content.

Some of the more interesting features include the ability to:
- create public or private channels,
- moderate conversations,
- enable direct messaging between members.
Creators can easily manage their communities by pinning important posts, editing or removing content, and blocking users if necessary. The tagging feature allows members to mention each other or the entire channel, enhancing interaction.
Passion.io also supports rich media sharing, allowing users to post images and videos directly in community threads. A unique voice message feature enables more personal communication, with messages up to 5 minutes long.
For creator convenience, communities can be linked to specific pricing plans, controlling access based on subscription levels.

Advanced settings give creators control over whether members can message each other or only interact with the creator. This level of customization allows for tailored community experiences, from intimate group discussions to larger, more open forums.
Kajabi community features
Kajabi’s Communities provides various tools, including live video, polls, events with RSVP functionality, challenges, and private circles, enabling creators to tailor their community experience.

The different communities are called access groups, and they also count towards your total product allowance. Depending on your goals, you can make it a free group or a paid one with different payment options – one-time, subscription, or monthly payments.

Some of its best features include leaderboards and challenges, which is great if you’re looking to regularly engage with your community, offer prices for the more active members, and just create a sense of belonging and purpose amongst the subscribers. There’s also the option to create polls and gather useful feedback on what your subscribers expect and need from this membership, gaining valuable ideas for future development.
Verdict: Passion.io wins 🏆
Passion.io takes the win here as the community features are included in all plans, making them more accessible than Kajabi. They also offer more unique features like allowing members to send voice notes, send private messages, report content to the admin, tag and mention other members, and much more.
Mobile and TV apps
Passion.io apps
Passion.io’s app builder is its main feature, allowing creators to develop custom mobile apps for iOS and Android without coding skills. The platform offers a library of templates and a drag-and-drop interface, making it accessible for non-technical users to create professional-looking apps quickly.

The app builder includes various interactive features like push notifications (1000/month for the basic plan and unlimited for the others), courses, communities, goal trackers, and scheduling tools. Passion.io handles app store submissions, simplifying the process of getting apps live on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
However, it’s worth noting that Passion.io doesn’t offer TV app development. This limitation could be significant for creators looking to expand their reach to larger screens, potentially missing out on a growing market of smart TV users. While the mobile-first approach is beneficial for many, the lack of TV app support might be a drawback for those seeking a truly multi-platform presence.
Despite this limitation, Passion.io’s mobile app builder remains a powerful tool for creators focusing on smartphone and tablet users.
Total support for the average person.
Passion.io makes it very easy for the average non-tech person to get started building and creating their app! The support team is readily available to help!
Kelli McCormack-Thomas – Passion.io Review
Kajabi apps
Kajabi offers a Branded Mobile App as an add-on service, allowing creators to have a custom-branded presence on iOS and Android devices. Unlike Passion.io’s built-in app builder, Kajabi’s app development is a fully managed service, with their team handling the entire process from design to app store submission.

The Branded App integrates well with the rest of their ecosystem, providing access to courses, community features, and coaching sessions. It supports push notifications and in-app purchases, potentially boosting engagement and revenue.
However, the app is an additional cost on top of regular Kajabi plans, starting at $89/month. While this approach ensures a professional result without coding knowledge, it may be less flexible for creators who want more control over app development.
Like Passion.io, Kajabi doesn’t offer TV app development, which could be a limitation for creators looking to expand to larger screens and capture the growing smart TV market.
Despite these considerations, Kajabi’s Branded App offers a polished, turnkey solution for creators focused on mobile engagement.
Verdict: It’s a tie!
Both platforms offer great tools for a creator or online business to launch their own branded app. The difference here is that Passion.io gives you the resources and support to build it yourself, while Kajabi takes the load of the process and does it for you. So, your choice depends on whether you want to have that control or you’d prefer to focus on content and community building instead.
Live streaming
Passion.io live streaming options
Passion.io lets you go live through the YouTube streaming feature.

To do that, you need to start a live stream on YouTube, edit the visibility to be unlisted, and then copy the URL of the stream to the video widget option on the lesson.

To promote your live stream, you can share the date and time with your community, but keep in mind that there’s no information about a chat option for Passion.io’s streaming feature, meaning the communication with your subscribers will probably have to be outside of the specific event.
Kajabi live streaming options
Kajabi has its own live platform that you can use for group sessions (Live Room) or 1:1 coaching (Live Video Session).
If you want to schedule a personal coaching live call with a subscriber, you need to create it through the coaching product and schedule it for a specific date and time.

You can also create a live room through the Community feature that will allow everyone in that specific access group to join when it’s time. This room will always be accessible which means that members can even meet up without the creator or admins and schedule their own events.

This goes much beyond what Passion.io offers as it comes with many important features like reminders and other useful automation to engage your audience before the live stream has even begun.
Verdict: Kajabi wins 🏆
Kajabi easily offers a lot more customization for their live streaming option, and the fact that it’s hosted on their own platform is a big advantage. It lets you create bespoke sales funnels that help promote your event, and unlike Passion.io, it does have a live chat feature as well as background effects and breakout sessions.

Verdict: It’s a tie!
Both platforms offer various payment options for subscribers, multiple revenue streams, and useful integrations, so the choice will mostly depend on which tools you’re already familiar with.
Marketing and sales tools
Passion.io marketing and sales tools
Passion.io offers a range of marketing and sales tools to help creators monetize their apps. The platform provides built-in sales funnels and the ability to create flexible pricing plans, including subscriptions, one-time purchases, and freemium models.
Creators can use push notifications for mobile marketing and leverage community channels for nurturing relationships. Passion.io integrates with Zapier, allowing connection to email marketing platforms and other tools to automate marketing processes.
The platform also offers PassionPayments, a built-in payment gateway with lower fees compared to app store commissions. Analytics tools help track revenue sources, user behavior, and growth metrics, enabling data-driven decision-making for business expansion.
Kajabi marketing and sales tools
Kajabi has a very good Funnel Builder that combines landing pages with built-in email marketing capabilities, allowing creators to design custom sales funnels or choose from pre-designed templates. The platform offers advanced automation features for streamlining marketing processes and nurturing leads.
Besides that, Kajabi’s email marketing software supports lead nurturing, custom designs, and detailed analytics on subscriber engagement. Users can also take advantage of the affiliate marketing system with unique tracking links and commission management.
As we mentioned earlier, Kajabi Payments gives you various payment options, including subscriptions and one-time purchases, with no additional transaction fees.
Verdict: Kajabi wins 🏆
Kajabi offers a lot more opportunities than Passion.io, allowing users to market their products effectively and track performance.
Customer support
Passion.io customer support
Passion.io’s support team has been praised a lot in reviews, with customers even mentioning specific agents that have helped them with specific struggles or business decisions.
Some users even mentioned that if it hadn’t been for the support team, they would have abandoned their business after the first week.
Kajabi customer support
Kajabi offers 24/7 support via live chat for all plans. They provide access to an extensive online knowledge base and articles. Growth and Pro plan customers also get telephone support. However, customer reviews on platforms like G2 indicate mixed experiences, with some users reporting difficulties in resolving issues and finding comprehensive guidance.
Verdict: Passion.io wins 🏆
Users are constantly impressed with Passion.io’s dedication to helping everyone reach their full potential and quickly resolve issues. Their team is highly trained, and their support is regularly praised in reviews.
Pricing model
Passion.io pricing plans

Passion.io offers three main pricing tiers, each designed to cater to different needs and budgets:
- Pro: $97 per month when billed annually ($119 monthly)
- Ultimate: $239 per month when billed annually ($297 monthly)
- Passion Plus: Custom pricing
The Pro plan, while the most affordable, offers basic features and has limitations. Many essential features are only available in higher-tier plans. For example, custom domains, branding removal, drip content, offline content access, and community push notifications are not included in the Pro plan.
The Growth plan adds some of these features, while the Ultimate plan provides the full suite of Passion.io’s offerings.
To help users decide, Passion.io provides a 30-day money-back guarantee, allowing creators to test the platform with its full feature set and decide whether it’s the right fit for their business.
Kajabi pricing plans

Kajabi’s pricing model is based on how many products you want to include. Each feature is a separate product – Online course, community, app, podcasts, coaching, etc.
- Kickstarter ($55/month) – It includes 1 product, 1 funnel, and 1,250 marketing emails, making it a good entry-level option.
- Basic ($119/month) – This provides 3 products, 3 funnels, and 10,000 contacts.
- Growth ($199/month) – The Growth plan expands to 15 products and 25,000 contacts, along with advanced automation and affiliate marketing.
- Pro ($399/month) – The Pro plan offers 100 products, 100 funnels, and 100,000 contacts, plus 3 websites.
Kajabi also offers enterprise-level plans for larger businesses that need personalized support, which start at $10,000/year.
Verdict
The choice here really depends on your goals. At first glance, Kajabi looks more expensive, but its multiple products allow you to build an all-in-one platform for most of your needs instead of using separate tools for marketing, email, analytics, etc, which you will have to do with Passion.io.
On the other hand, if you’re looking to quickly launch a functional mobile app and focus your efforts there, Passion.io might be the better choice for you.
Uscreen: The easiest way to build a passionate community

If you’re still on the fence about these products, Uscreen is a powerful alternative to both Passion.io and Kajabi, especially for creators focused on video content and building engaged communities. Unlike its competitors, Uscreen offers a comprehensive solution that includes mobile AND TV apps, reaching a wider audience across various platforms.
Uscreen’s video-first approach provides superior video hosting capabilities, complete with detailed analytics that both Passion.io and Kajabi lack.
The platform offers highly developed community features, allowing for interactive discussions, live streaming, and member challenges. Its course creation tools are intuitive and flexible, supporting various content types and learning styles.

What sets Uscreen apart is its ability to handle large content libraries without performance issues, a problem reported by some Kajabi users. Uscreen also offers more customization options for your website and learning environment, ensuring a branded experience for your audience.
Key features include:
- Mobile and TV app development
- Comprehensive video analytics
- Advanced community engagement tools
- Flexible monetization options
- Scalable content management
So, if you’re a:
- Educational content creator
- Fitness and yoga instructor
- YouTuber or influencer
- Or just any person looking for a platform that combines the best of course creation, community building, and video distribution
… then Uscreen might be the ideal choice.
